It looks like you tried to install grub to a read only sd card (
/dev/mmcblk0 ).  You will need to install it to the hard disk ( /dev/sda
) instead.

  Don't know wheather it's a bug. I'm using 13.10. I expected it to
  function, but it didn't. I'm very fond of Ubuntu and I suppose it's my
  fault.
