Title:
Desktop installation not acting upon acpi signals (shutdown)

Status in acpid package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Hi,

While running virtual clients (kvm) I've noticed the desktop
installations are not shutting down when requested. Any server
installation does properly shutdown. I've installed both ubuntu-13.04
  -desktop-amd64.iso and ubuntu-13.04-server-amd64.iso, the server
installation shuts down correct while the desktop installation remains
running (does not even write anything under /var/log !)

I've seen this even downto 12.04.

Thus command sent to systems: virsh shutdown <system>
(this is an acpi signal, kvm hypervisor)

  1) lsb_release -rd
  Description:	Ubuntu 13.04
  Release:	13.04

  2) apt-cache policy acpid
  acpid:
    Installed: 1:2.0.18-1ubuntu1
    Candidate: 1:2.0.18-1ubuntu1
    Version table:
   *** 1:2.0.18-1ubuntu1 0
          500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ raring/main amd64 Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

  3) I expected the system to shutdown.
  4) The system continued running

Compared to server installation, cd /var/log; tail * :
