  Cannot re-install kubuntu

Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I did one install of kubuntu from flash drive but had login problems so attempted to install it again (multiple times!).  It gets to 94-95% and then throws an error "executing grub-install/dev/sda' failed This is a fatal error"
  I was installing kubuntu 9.10.  Not the server version.
