As this issue relates to partitioning during installation, thought I'd
add the output of Boot Repair. Note that this is after successfully
making it through the installation process without crashing so it's not

  Trying to install 14.10 on an Acer Aspire S7 392-9890

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  EFEI (or whatever the damn thing is) is on. Tried the default
  partition suggestion. Been trying many times to do a clean install on
  this wretched array. Had several crashes and other mishaps. When
  trying with 14.04 previously I would get a dialog that says: "(XXX
  XXX)" literally!
