Public bug reported:
The summary line rather says it all. I'm not sure which update of the
'update-manager' package triggered the problem, but it definitely was
within the last 3-4 weeks. When I run from the command line, this is
the error message I receive:
morse at s3 ~> update-manager
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/update-manager", line 33, in <module>
from UpdateManager.UpdateManager import UpdateManager
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/UpdateManager/UpdateManager.py", line 59, in <module>
import GtkProgress
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/UpdateManager/GtkProgress.py", line 76, in <module>
class GtkOpProgressWindow(apt.OpProgress):
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'OpProgress'
Also, update-notifier, in the indicators along the top of Unity's
interface, shows a large red circle with a horizontal white line running
partially through middle of it (i.e., the "do not enter" traffic sign
used internationally, or at least in the West, used to indicate "wrong
way" if you go down the associated path).
