The 64 bit EFI build of grub is being installed, but it seems to have
become confused and thinks it is the bios version:

grub-install: error: /usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/modinfo.sh doesn't exist.
Please specify --target or --directory.

Title:
Failed to install grub on Nextbook

Status in grub-installer package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
This went merrily along until it got to the final stage and died with
a grub error. Why it was attempting to install grub on a UEFI machine
is a better question though. Odd 15.10 has this problem when
Elementary, which is based on 14.04, cleanly installs. Elementary has
boot problems with the combination of 32-bit UEFI and 64-bit multi-
core computer, but it does cleanly install
