Title:
  update-notifier crashed with SIGSEGV

Status in update-notifier package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I have recently upgraded via do-release-upgrade -d to artful. These
are the initial issues that I have been hit with. I was not sure where
to report but I will put them here as a gist -

  1. Ctrl Alt F1 takes me to login screen. How does one go to console?
  2. I have a Logitech G35 head set causes slow down significant on the GDM. I need to check how it fairs on the unity desktop.
  3. How to set number of desktops on GDM 4 or customize their arrangement?
  4. Alt space x for maximize for a Window does not work on GDM out of the box. Do we need to set these short cuts?
  5. Notification area - all clicks result in the same menu (displaced) - nothing for Dropbox, etc. If I click wireless should it not be showing me the wireless option expanded already?

Sorry if they are not relevant. I wanted to add them to July Shakedown
  but that page wasn't opening.

  Thanks,
  Mayank
