After some more testing, Gparted works fine under xorg, but crashes
under Wayland with both one or two monitors - so is likely a duplicate
of the bug you mention.

That said, wayland gives better automatic scaling on the desktop with my
HDMI TV than does xorg.

Please note that I have installed no proprietary drivers for the
A6-9500's Radeon R5 integrated graphics. I presume that this "additional
drivers" option will come in 18.04LTS? At the moment it has to be done
installed manually by the looks of things.

Status in gparted package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I have multiple monitors. Gparted doesn't execute.
  I'm using ubuntu 17.10 fully updated. AMD A6-9500 CPU with built in graphics. Not using xorg.
  Running from commandline, I see the following in the output.

  No protocol specified

  (gpartedbin:5456): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0

  Of course both displays I have render OK otherwise.
