Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it
seems that there is a problem with your hardware. I recommend
performing a back up and then investigating the situation. Measures you
might take include checking cable connections and using software tools
to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not
in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to
New. Thanks and good luck!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Title:
  package python3-pil:amd64 5.1.0-1 failed to install/upgrade: installed
python3-pil:amd64 package post-installation script subprocess returned
  error exit status 1

Status in pillow package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Upgrading from 16.04 to 18.04

The message "could not install...-pil" appeared halfway through (see
  attached screenshot.

When the upgrade was almost complete I received another message "could
not install upgrades, the upgrade has aborted. Your system could be in
an unstable state. A recovery will run now (dpkg-configure-a)." (your
program would not let me upload more than one screenshot)

When the upgrade was complete a third message "upgrade complete. The
upgrade has completed but there were errors during the upgrade
  process" (see attached screenshot)

The reason I upgraded was because the last update kernel I downloaded
4.4.0-135 would not let me reboot properly.

Please tell me how to fix this. Thanks.
