Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command only once, as it
will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect 2025680
When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.
I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg.
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your
problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community
http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or
https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709
Ubiquity was used on many ISOs for jammy/22.04; yet thus far no clues as
available as this report appears to be have filed online, rather than
using `ubuntu-bug` on the impacted system. Bug reporting is about
finding & fixing problems thus preventing future users from hitting the
same bug.
Please run `apport-collect` on the system impacted, so required data
fields can be populated correctly; after which the status can be
returned to "New". Ubiquity is also a deprecated installer don't forget
(ubuntu-desktop-installer having replaced it as the default Desktop
installer at 23.04) though it may still be used for future re-spins of
22.04 ISOs (22.04.3 etc)

Title:
Ubiquity removes packages not in removal manifest
Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
In 22.04, Ubiquity will remove packages defined outside of the
filesystem.manifest-remove, specifically adcli and sssd.
casper.log: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/SwdQT8hzPv/
syslog: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/sWFn3Bny5j/
partman: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/2YRDmWGmb6/
The installer otherwise respects the desktop and removal manifests. I
am not configuring an AD user at install time.
If this is expected behavior, I would appreciate any guidance on how
to modify it.
