  will not boot automatically

Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  After recent upgrade (2024-Nov-01 ?) Ubuntu will not boot
  automatically. It will boot if I select debug option early in the boot
  procedure.

  Computer is MSI Gaming Series at least 5 years old.

  No LSB modules are available.

  When booting I expect the computer to boot and ultimately show the
  login prompt

  What happens: The login prompt never appears (dark screen)
