Xubuntu 24.04 (noble) now uses the new Ubuntu installer so I'm invalidating both tasks.
Please create a new bug report against the 'ubuntu-desktop-provision' project if this issue is still relevant in new installations of Xubuntu.

Title:
No swap created when installing Xubuntu 24.04 iso.

Status in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I installed Xubuntu 24.04 using the graphical installer from the iso
file downloaded on Dec $th 2023.

All went well but no swapfile was created at install.

The installation replaced a partition with Xubuntu 20.04. It was
installed using the Something Else option at installation and choosing
te 20.04 partition for the / partition of the new version. The
  existing EFI partition was used.

I anticipated a swapfile would be created automatically but this did
not happen causing suspend failure on lid closure of the laptop which
is what it is set to do.
