It appears to me that this is also in 26.04 Beta.

In my case however I am booting an ISO via network and run subiquity
with an autoinstall-file that gets downloaded in the process via HTTP.
There is no cdrom and no need for a cdrom because it should use the
online package repos.

In 24.04 and prior that was not a problem. Somehow the subiquity
environment injects its own sources that include the cdrom source. Even
if the curtin flag "preserve_sources_list: false" is set.

I am kinda stuck with that and wait for the first final 26.04 release
and see if this still appears.

Title:
  subiquity curtin apt-get update fails

Status in subiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
CI/CD pipeline was functional until I switch over to using 20.04.4
ISO. When it gets to Curtin in-target apt-get update, it crashes with
error code 100. Google has not been useful in providing an answer. I
checked NTP on the ESXi host, and it is synced. Attached is the
  subiquity crash report.
