Title:
Unable to upgrade 24.04 LTS Desktop to 26.04 Desktop

Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I have done the following prior to update:
  sudo apt update
  sudo apt upgrade -y
  sudo apt install update-manager-core
  sudo nano /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades //made sure "Prompt=lts"
sudo do-release-upgrade --devel-release //since LTS seems to be unavailable
  sudo do-release-upgrade

Installed package headers were downloaded from repositories and snaps
  were analyzed:

  "Checking for installed snaps

  Calculating snap size requirements"

  Then:

  "Checking package manager
  Reading package lists... Done
  Building dependency tree... Done
  Reading state information... Done

  Calculating the changes

  Calculating the changes

  Could not calculate the upgrade

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the
  command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal. If
you want to investigate this yourself the log files in
'/var/log/dist-upgrade' will contain details about the upgrade.
Specifically, look at 'main.log' and 'apt.log'.

  Restoring original system state

  Aborting
  Reading package lists... Done
  Building dependency tree... Done
  Reading state information... Done"

There appears to be several "Broken" dependencies but running:

"Starting pkgProblemResolver with broken count: 12
Starting 2 pkgProblemResolver with broken count: 12"

So I tried fixing them with:

  "sudo apt --fix-broken install"

  and:

  "sudo dpkg --configure -a"

Re-run the upgraded but same error and log report. I even tried using
Synaptic to locate broken dependencies with no luck.

  Help!!
