the patch is downloaded from promise oficial web site. i dont remember the
license, but i think that is free

ubuntu boot flawlessly, but Promise Fattrack100 TX2 is detected as a PCI dual
IDE Controller. ide2 and ide3 is accesible from /dev and hde, hdf, hdg, hdh is
created and accesible from /dev and is mountable and unmountable if a normal
disk is configured in the channel.
you can make a software raid0 or a software raid1, but you can not use the
internal configuration program in promise BIOS to make the array. the added
Patch must convert the ide2 and ide3 devices in one scsi-like controler that
hides the two drives and ubuntu only views one drive with many partitions as
raid partitions make in the bios controller

the goal is that ubuntu detects this PCI expansion card as a Hardware IDE RAID
controller.
