There is a thread with people having the same problem on the Ubuntu
forums:

The problem is that the orinocco and the host_ap drivers were both
loaded.  Blacklisting the host_ap drivers as suggested in the thread
fixes the problem.

It shouldn't be loading both those drivers though.
