Further testing reveals that this crash occurs when the computer blanks
the screen on idle after login.

If I leave the computer idle while on the gdm login screen, it will not
crash.

If I log in and leave it idle, it will deadlock instantly when the
screen goes black. When I turend off "suspend the screen after 20
minutes of idle" in power-options and set it to never, the computer does
not seem to deadlock.
