I am using an Acer 5732-z laptop.   I would think it is more of the ath9k drivers.

That would make sense if most Asus hardware uses Atheros chipsets. The
problem probably extends to most users of the ath9k drivers, and not
just ones on Asus hardware, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
