I had an issue booting with kernel 2.6.31-20 that got solved when
upgrading to *-21. Can you try to press SHIFT when you start the machine
so that it shows the Grub menu, select an older kernel to boot (like
*-19) and do a dist-upgrade to install the latest kernel?
