similar issues here , my E620 which worked fine under 9.10 is now only
recognised as a mass storage device and no longer as a modem this is
with the netbook remix version beta 2

This modem is the standard contract  modem for three ireland and I don't
have the option of not using it for my internet as i am on a contract
for another year at least.

on the plus side networking wpa1/2 is working in 10.04 while my aspire
one refused to connect under 9.10
