Public bug reported:

Machine froze while updating.   On reboot "linux-headers-2.6.31-21 (New
install)", "linux-headers--2.6.31-21-generic (New install)", "linux-
headers-generic" & linux-libc-dev" failed to install.  There was also
something about a broken package that I THINK has been fixed.
