You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Karmic mounts the Nokia N900 in "mass storage" mode and allows browsing
of the phones filestore.
Lucid recognizes the device but does not mount it.
The protocol in both cases is:
1. Laptop switched on.
2. Phone switched on.
3. Plug USB cable in phone.
4. Plug USB cable in laptop.
5. Phone recognizes the connection and dislays the options:
Mass media mode
PC-Suite mode
6. Select "Mass media mode"
7. Laptop displays Nokia N900 as a disk device in computer:///
8. Laptop cannot display contents of computer:///Nokia N900.
Selecting "PC-Suite mode" above leads to laptop offering mobile Internet
so the connection from laptop to phone is working as it should. On
Karmic the "mass media mode" worked and allowed browsing of the
filestore.
** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
