It's worth noting that I only have this problem when using 'mount' to
access the cifs volume.

I don't have any trouble if I connect with smbclient or use the
"Places->Connect to Server->Windows Share" menu.

If I mount using "mount -t cifs //192.168.0.2/media /media/media
-ocredentials=/root/samba-credentials.txt" as soon as I access the
volume the mouse stops moving and the computer is locks up.
