Same here on an IBM Stinkpad T60. 10.04 would suspend/resume for months
on end. 10.10 resume leaves me with (in no particular order, it's
random):

1) a completely black screen
2) bounced back to a terminal complaining about hot-add adding a device that's already added
3) xscreensaver login - completely hung and only a magic alt + shift + sysreq + k will unlock it.

This is desperately annoying as we're trying to push ubuntu in our
enterprise. Things like this, dual screen being broken and vpn being
broken really compromise our case.
