Summary: freeze at boot with USB media card reader plugged in
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: fabbione at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: mroth at berkeley.edu
         QAContact: kernel-team at lists.ubuntu.com

When booting system with standard USB mass storage device plugged into USB2.0
port, boot process will freeze on "booting the kernel" step.

If card reader is unplugged, system will boot as expected. Post-boot, card
reader can be plugged in and will function normally.

Problem has existed since at least kernel 2.6.9 packages on this hardware.

Device is a "Dane-Elec Combo 9-in-4 Reader/Writer", ID 0a48:3244
