I took the change of DELL_UART_BACKLIGHT being compiled as a module and 
applied this to the config files for both Plucky and Noble. This is like 
it was asked for in the bug report and also (since this was already 
applied to unstable/questing) we now have this config synced for latest 
LTS and onward.

Applied to plucky,noble:linux/master-next. Thanks.
