I don't quite follow the rationale for the nack.  I thought the
guidelines recommend that the submitted patches be part of an upstream
release before being considered for inclusion in an SRU.  This
particular bug is a farily trivial to reproduce panic, which is why it
would be worth including it ahead of it arriving as part of the merge
with the stable branch that contains the fix.

Would you be willing to reconsider?  It's in 6.14-rc6 and is currently
in the stable queues for >= 6.1.
