Ubuntu (kubuntu) | kynaptic

Summary: kynaptic from kmenu won't actually start
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: amd64
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Keywords: kubuntu
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: kynaptic
        AssignedTo: debzilla at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: alex_has_email at yahoo.com
         QAContact: kubuntu-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

My setup: Kubuntu 5.04 AMD64 fresh install.

Kynaptic and (later) synaptic both won't start from the kmenu. This is probably
due to the fact that it doesn't get executed as root-user / sudo.

When I change it manually (no clue as to how normal users would have to find
this out) in the properties of the kmenu start-icon, to execute as root, it does
ask my password again, and it will open.

It'll also work when I open konsole and execute "sudo kynaptic". It just doesn't
work from the kmenu.
