Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34023

Affects: arts (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Seems aRts was responsible for this hang. I have breezy-updates and
breezy-backports installed, and then tried to install KDE 3.5.1 as
described on www.kubuntu.org. KDE hanged on logout, and after fiddeling
around a bit, I noticed two dangling aRts processes, and also a dangling
process to stop aRts (artscontrol -d terminate or something). Then I
reinstalled aRts and libarts1c2, and thigs are working just fine.
Something to ponder when arranging for an upgrade to the next version of
Kubuntu?

;)Frode

PS: At one time I had only the german mirror at ftp://bolugftp.uni-bonn.de/ in the sources.list, and that did not produce the error. Only after upgrading to packages at http://kubuntu.org/packages/ did the error occur. Date for noticing the error (i.e. performing the last upgrade) is ca. 5. March 2006.
