[Bug 37309] adept_notifier is broken

Description:
adept_notifier's tray icon seems to randomly disappear.
ps -e reveals that's it's running though.
Further it never notifies me of updates.
It shows the updates needed icon and when I mouse over it, it says "no avialable updates" ?!.
If I manually apt-get update, it show the number of updates available if point the mouse at the icon
