Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: amarok
Since my Hardy upgrade, Amarok constantly rescans my collection. There
are no new songs, I haven't made any changes to the files, I have
checked that there are no duplicate Amarok processes running, so there
is no reason for it to start rescanning the collection. Initially I
suspected that hald-addon-storage had something to do with it (since I
haven't seen this process in Gutsy) but it doesn't seem like it. I am
using the sqlite backend for the database.
I can send more details about my filesystem and collection setup if
required. But its really annoying because it basically renders Amarok
unusable for me. The rescanning starts almost immediately after a scan
is finished. I also tried strac-ing the process, but still have to make
sense of the output.
