Having same issue.. Click to install .deb file - get popup from
KPackageKit - click install - get "You don't have the necessary
privleges to perform this action." - Using non-root user - but user has
sudo privs.. - I tried same deb file using open-with and used GDebi
Package Installer - and it worked without a problem..
