Kde/Gnome does not start at login

Hi,

After an update I think, after I log to kubuntu, KDE or GNOME doesn't start. 
The login window just reappears. I then choose "session type = failsafe" and 
it works. I then type in the shell "startkde" and it works again.

Therefore somewhere in the init script level 7 chain of scripts, something 
goes wrong for KDE or GNOME. Since this chain of scripts is very complex, I 
am asking for help.

Some has an idea ?
