Memory stick won't mount -- Kubuntu 6.06.1

After plugging my memory stick into a USB port on a Kubuntu 6.06.1 box, the 
drive appears on the desktop.  However, when Konqueror tries to open a window 
and display the files, it fails and returns an message of "Internal Error".

If I right click on the drive and choose "Mount", a failure dialog appears 
with a title of "kio_media_mounthelper".

Is anyone familiar with this?
