If your laptop screen goes black for a while when booting up in
Kubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) like mine does, never fear, hit Alt+F1 to
view the console the bootup is reporting output to and you will see
what it is doing.
Feedback for the Kubuntu developers
lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
I'd suggest the screen never be allowed to just go blank when starting
up one's computer. It leaves many users wondering if anything is
happening at all. Better to always show something is happening, either
with a progress bar or by displaying the boot console instead of a
black monitor.
Should feedback from relatively non-technical users like me be
submitted somewhere else? Where?
Thanks,
Roger
