I also can't know what you did wrong the previous time and wether my strategy
would have worked.
Amaising the comment they gave:

It reads as if they provided a dummy libgcc_s.so.1 file that cairo wouldn't
even see??? or cairo sees first the eponyme folder and therefore fails to see
the file with the same name... something clumsy about this.
