Mine was too. I did have an ATA slot on the new motherboard. I don't know
for certain, however, the new board had a lot of unused adapters. My
motherboard is an ASUS M3N-HT Mempipe. It has 4 SATA slots and one ATA, which
can be used for two drives. It has lots of very sophisticated capabilities,
so perhaps it is unique. If your motherboard does not have a place to connect
ATA drives, it wouldn't work.

If I can find an appropriate SATA to ATA adapter, I will get back to you for an
address to send it. It may take a bit, but surely I will know in an hour or
so. I am East Coast US and it is 15 minutes past noon right now.

I do not have the adapter that would work. I have several with sata and
regular power connector adapters, but nothing that would work from a SATA MB
to ATA HHD connector. I will look at some of the sites that sell adapters
just to see if such a thing exists. If I find a solution and you haven't found
a solution to your problem, I will get back to you.
