I ran e-Sword on Feisty, Gutsy, Hardy and Intrepid without problem.  
Although Jaunty is the best at installing anything, I am having my 
trouble on Jaunty.  I couldn't get kmail installed on Intrepid to save 
my soul.  Worked the problem for a month, and survived using 
thunderbird, but I still never gave up.  I used the exact same 
configuration on each with the same ISP, same as the configuration of 
Thunderbird, it just would not work.  I installed Jaunty and thought I 
would give it a try and 15 seconds later I was writing myself an email 
to see if it worked.  It did.  Same with driver installations.  Fast and 
perfect.  But not my most treasured application e-Sword.  I seem to be a 
problem, please don't give up on me.  I love this List.  And thanks Nigel.
