Well, to answer myself: Edit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist Add one line: blacklist acer_wmi Ensure mad wifi drivers are NOT enabled. Reboot. That got my wireless working. No LEDs but it works. Not sure what else will happen - i.e. suspend and upgrade issues. HTH \d
