I'm using Hardy, so I don't know for sure that it's still available in Jaunty, 
but all I do is fire up Konqueror and use the fish protocol to get into 
another machine over the network something like this:-

fish://10.50.1.77/home/username/

which asks for the user's passord, and you're in.

You might need to make sure ssh and if I correctly remember the name 
opensshserver are installed for this to work.
