Doug,

Let's see what the Kate mailing list comes back with, if anything, since
I've sent it over to them, as this is highly unlikely to be a
Kubuntu-owned issue from what was described.

I'm just another user of Kubuntu and Kate not a dev or package
maintainer, so I would not be able to isolate / solve the problem  -
just helping out by making sure it gets routed to the right people.

Ultimately, if a bug needs to be raised, the KDE/Kate devs will probably
appreciate if you test it against all the drivers to hand as it would
probably isolate things for them a bit.  Its not a necessity though.  In
the user community I think we can do our best to highlight issues but
don't *have to* try and solve everything ourselves, that would be
impractical

Sorry my email address might be confusing ("support") - that is for
managing administrative topics associated with some servers that I run.
