Kubuntu and touch screens

I have a Dell Inspiron All-in-one which I bought a little more than 2 years
ago and it has a touch screen. The touch screen has always worked ok
without any manual intervention, completely plug and play. There was an
issue when using multiple displays, but it was soved in Kubuntu 14.04.
However, I've been out for a month last July on holidays and, when I got
back, there was a lot of packages waiting to be upgraded. After installing
the upgrades, the touch screen stopped working. I never use it anyway, so I
haven't got the energy or will to debug this and look for a solution.
So, for me, it is not working right now, but it has always worked before,
so it may be a simple, easily solvable problem.
