Back to Windows? Nah, I have work to do. Windows is only for some games.
The abundance of emails we have to read about the new KDE software will happen every time there is a version bump. It happened when KDE 4 was released and will happen again when KDE 6 is released. Just like I did in 2008 (2009 ? - too long ago to remember), I will wait until the next Kubuntu version is released to upgrade my main computer. The problem with 15.04 is that not everything has been ported to Plasma 5 yet. Give it a few months and the wonderful developers who work very hard to create the software I love and use will finally have completed converting the vast amount of code over to the new version. Until then you can just not read any emails on this list for a while if it really bothers you that much. Or not, your decision.
Comparing this transition to the last one I have to say that at least Kubuntu 15.04 is usable. Lots of things don't work quite right but at least they work - like Konsole reporting a crash every time I close it. Lots of software still missing, and that is why I personally am not using it every day. The biggest gripe I have is the default menu. I mean it just annoys the hell out of me. I actually start to get angry with it when I have to use it a couple of times in a short amount of time. So I report the bugs I find and go back to 14.10 to get things done.
Alan
