Hah. Good one! If you are unhappy with the mailing list go to a
windows mailing list.

Is that what it is good for? I knew there must be a reason for it.

That isn't my issue. KDE 4 was just plain broken for several years.
KDE 5 actually seems quite good to me. What annoys me is:
1) All my settings are lost. I have to redo my panels, windows,
shortcuts, etc. Most of the features are still there, but no attempt
was made to translate them from KDE 4 to KDE 5. Bad form!
2) No warning was given. Yes, it said that this one ran KDE 5, but I
never saw a warning that I would lose all my settings. I figured that
we had better and newer underpinnings, not that everything would be
lost.
Basically, it felt like the developers of Kubuntu disrespected me.
They acted like my time and effort is not important. So maybe I lose
a couple of days work? Who cares. At least I'm running nicer code.
I use Ubuntu because I always felt like they respected the desktop
user. It was pleasant to use and followed the principle of least
surprise. Kubuntu was even better because it had an even nicer UI
than Ubuntu but followed many of the same principles.
I no longer feel that I can recommend )K)ubuntu to my less technical
friends, and I'm sad about that.
