Restore kubuntu login manager

Hi Everyone,

I tried to fix my Clang install on Kubuntu/Jammy after a
do-system-upgrade.[1] When I removed some old and unused GCC packages,
it blew away some of the GUI stuff, like the greeter and login
manager. Looking at bash history, I performed `apt remove --purge
gcc-9* gcc-10* gcc-12*`. I did not record what packages were removed,
but it cut deeper than expected.

I did some fiddling in an attempt to repair the login gear. I've
gotten as far as the two screen shots at [2,3]. Obviously, they are
wrong. Especially the big Soft Input Panel (SIP) - this is a desktop
computer and not a laptop. Looking at bash history, they are the
result of (re?)installing kde-plasma-desktop and lightdm-kde-greeter.

How do I get this system back to its upgraded state with the expected
login manager and behaviors?
