I think it may be that's because you have a radeon X600 and in the new
kernel
it got enabled for 3d support through the free ati driver. I have the same
model
on a HP Nx8220 and X starts fine. If this is your problem try commenting out
Load "dri" for now in xorg.conf.
Unfortunately the change may need to be reverted if other laptops have the
similar
prob :(
Is the pci id of your radeon 1002:3150 ?
