How do Launchpad's GNOME translations get to Gnome

This is a really cool idea, and your code looks like a good start. You might
want to track this bug which is about a similar feature:

For easing automated access to Malone, we added some extra pages for machine
parsability. Perhaps we should think about doing something similar for
Rosetta.
