questions on beta.launchpad.net

Good morning,

I noticed that I am now being directed to the beta site upon signing into
launchpad and have two questions on it.

1.  If I triag bugs on beta.launchpad.net do they get triaged on
launchpad.net?

2.  What exactly is the contributions section and what do the icons mean
when I look at my page?  For example:  beta.launchpad.net/~jjesse shows
under contributions Ubuntu and something called Fooix the Wonder-Toaster
and has different icons.  Is there are reference for what those icons
mean?
