Karma reduction March 07

Hello everyone,

You may have noticed a drop in your Launchpad karma yesterday.

We fixed a bug that was a remnant of the karma caching problem we had in
October last year. Unfortunately, when we originally worked on the
problem in January, we failed to clear one of Launchpad's caches. This
meant that some Launchpad users were showing up twice in contributor
lists.

When we cleared the cache, we discovered that the problem had also
resulted in a small inflation to everyone's karma. Clearing the cache
corrected the karma levels and alerted us to the inflation. I'm sorry
that we didn't let you know beforehand that your karma was about to
drop.

The karma level you have now is accurate and a reflection of the work
you've done in Launchpad. I'm pleased to say we now have extra checks to
make sure it stays that way.

I'm sorry we didn't get this fixed all in one go back in January. If you
