True. I didn't describe it as well as I should have, I guess. For
decisions that affect the group, generally, they are voted on within
the group. Christer would rather see the group be interdependent
working together rather than dependent on him. As president of my
local LUG, I have the same attitude. However, Christer does lead
the group, and takes on a great deal of responsibility to see that
the group heads in the direction that it should. The most effective
leaders are those who see the group become successful without much
bureaucracy or overhead.
With that said though, being a mentor for the US Teams project, I am
interested to learn how other group leaders lead their team, and
what they do to make their team a success. Teams like Chicago, Ohio
and Colorado are making big strides, and I'm curious about the
process they take to see it happen.
